Wow...I guess it's been a while. It's hard to believe I've been married 5 weeks already...course with the craziness of summer college (10, 16-week credits in 8 weeks) and trying to figure out how to live with a woman...LoL--not bad mind you...just different :o) Being the "head of household" is also strange and doesn't really change much at this point, but the responsibility before God to lead my family in a way that honors Him is kind of sobering. Anyway...lots to do today. Going on vacation this weekend with my moms side of the family (huge cabin in WVA) and need to prepare food and do homework for tomrrow and Monday (because I won't do anything this weekend) and then Sunday Kay and I are coming back to celebrate her birthday (the 26th) and coincidentally the day we got engaged (the 27th)...don't know if people usually celebrate that or not but being right next to her birthday, we just combined the two. Man, we have to figure out how to live on a budget...the bad news is there is so much stuff you need that you are used to just being there at your parents house...things like nylon cooking utensils for nonstick pans (so you don't void the warranty on nice new wedding gifts) and a printer for your computer so you can print out homework and a vacuum cleaner...sigh...oh well...the good news is we have some savings and the extra expenditures are rapidly declining...it's just hard to stick to a monthly budget. So that's my life, and I should be getting off of here...it's nice that I don't have school on Wednessdays...course I have 8 hrs of class Tuesdays and Thursdays and 4 Mondays...hope that's not too much information for an update. Hopefully some day (when Kay and I actually go on vacations OTHER than our honeymoon) we can stop in and see people that want to meet her (and hopefully want to see me too!)
There we are...maybe some day I'll get more pictures up here...it was the most beautiful wedding I could have imagined. Simple and traditional, yet stunningly beautiful. ******* OK RobinCanadianWeening wanted a little more info so I figured I'd post it for all to see: I am currently in school for 4 more weeks and then I go to work for the fall semester 2008. Spring 2009 I will be back in school, summer 2009 I work. Then, Fall 2009 and spring 2010 I go to school and graduate spring 2010. Kay is currently working full time at a research facility (ok so she cleans up the animals rooms including their cages and such). She will hopefully be working until I finally graduate college nearly 2 years from now when we plan to start having kids...but uh...I guess we'll see how that goes...God may have other plans. She does not have a college degree, but her and I both agree that there isn't much point for a stay at home mom-to-be to run up college bills she won't be able to help pay off. OK I think that's all. |
